Very busy with work and stuff at the moment but I came across this short quote and thought I'd share it. So...... who said:
"The crowd is now in the saddle ... The people now rule. We have substituted for the divine right of kings, the divine right of the multitude."
All sounds very web 2.0 don't it, but those are words spoken by one of the founding fathers of PR. 'Poison' Ivy Lee who was around about 80 - 90 years ago? Richard?
It just goes to show that as Stuart and others have shown this whole social media thing is really about taking PR, business, politics - anything with social interaction back to a basic, fundamental level of honesty, openness and transparency.
There's no specific reference to a text or speech but it's taken from the foreword of Stuart Ewen's probably out-dated but interesting book: PR! A Social History of Spin.
I don't think there are enough books with exclamation marks in the title.
How much better would Da Vinci! The Code be.... or what about The Bible!
No. If it demands an exclamation mark it probably doesn't need one as the statement will stand on its own merits!!!!!!!!!!
