So, in case you hadn't heard already, the fourth and final keynote speaker for this year's CIPR Northern Conference has been confirmed as CEO of Editorial Intelligence (EI), Julia Hobsbawm. Julia is the pioneer of 'integrity PR' and was in a bit of bother earlier this year with the media over her new set-up, EI. Richard Bailey wrote a bit about it back then here and here.
Julia is also Visiting Professor of Public Relations at the London College of Communication and used to run a PR firm with Gordon Brown's wife and so is very well connected in certain (New Labour) circles.
Julia will join Business Editor at the Financial Times, John Willman and financial PR expert Rob Skinner, Chief Press Officer at First Direct.
They will also be some really exciting workshops on blogging and new media (of course!), charity PR, and regeneration.
Nicky Wake from Don't Panic Projects is organising the sha-bang at The Carriage Works in Leeds and has more over at her blog, Eventualities. You can book there too if ytou haven't done so already... I really would urge you to!
On the subject of Ms Hobsbawm, I know I promised a review of her new book 'Where the Truth Lies...'. I haven't forgotten but have been mega-busy. It's coming soon, as they say.
See you there Simon.

Blimey, Alex... either a) you have a change of heart b) you have got an employer to stump up for you or c) you managed to get a nice discount by helping out.
See you there!
